Many of us have Christmas cards we didn’t use last year. We need those at First Parish. In order to send cards to the approximately 900 UUs who are incarcerated, we are collecting your unused cards. Please join your FPB friends on Nov. 14th at 10:00 in the lower Parish Hall for camaraderie, food and doing good works.   We had a great time two years ago when we prepared more than 225 cards.  I hope we can send even more this year.  We’ll send a personal message and get the card ready to go to CLF at the UUA Headquarters in Boston. Beginning this Sunday, please bring clean, glitter-free, non-puffy cards with clean white envelopes to Susan Holton or Joe Snyders. We will also need stamps; you can also give one of us cash or a check with which we can buy cards and stamps.  CLF, the Church of the Larger Fellowship, is the UUA’s “church without walls” established to meet the needs of UUs who cannot go to a UU church, for any variety of reasons.  Imprisoned folks certainly match that demographic.  Many incarcerated people receive no greetings at Christmas.  Let’s provide a message of hope and peace for some of those people.
