Cultivating a Culture of Peace

Sunday, September 22, marks the beginning of Peace Week in Bridgewater, recognized globally as an International City of Peace. We invite you to start this special week with us at First Parish at 9:30 am for the rededication of our Peace Pole on the front lawn. This ceremony, led by the dedicated members of the Peace Committee, sets the stage for our morning worship and the week’s theme: “Cultivating a Culture of Peace.”

Explore the transformative power of peace within each of us and how we can extend it throughout our community.

Our morning will be accompanied by a rich musical program, beginning with Vivaldi’s “Autumn” from The Four Seasons. The service will also include iconic songs from two of everyone’s favorite mop-tops from Liverpool.

Additionally, prepare to be moved by powerful readings from renowned global peace leaders like Desmond Tutu, and the poignant story of “Sadako and the Thousand Cranes,” presented by Lisa Troy.

As part of our commitment to community and support, this week’s service will also contribute to the School on Wheels, aiding students affected by homelessness
